YG Entertainment uploaded a teaser video titled “YG 전략자료실” (YG Strategy Center) today to announce that YG will be making a new reality show.
“YG전자” (YG SC) is the shortened name of the show, which is titled “YG 전략자료실” (YG Strategy Center). It is a reality show that is based on what actually happened within YG.
The director of the show is Park Jun-su, who has made a name for himself by directing the God of Music series, the UV Syndrome series, and Enemy of Broadcasting, in which he showed off his crude sense of humor and non-mainstream style. Park joined YG earlier this year, and it’s the first show that he will be directing under YG. Almost all YG artists will be appearing in the show, raising the expectations even more.
The teaser video features YG CEO Yang Hyunsuk, Jinu of JINUSEAN, BIGBANG’s Seungri, CL, WINNER, iKON, AKMU, Sechskies, BlackPink, Yoo Byungjae, and ONE. Other YG artists that did not appear in the teaser video are likely to appear in the show too.
Yang Hyunsuk is portrayed as someone to make fun of, Yoo Byungjae as someone who takes care of Yang Hyunsuk’s dog, Seungri as someone who wants to become the next Yang Hyun Suk, and Lee Jaejin as a whistle blower. Everyone in the show have different and distinctive personas, which makes the show even more interesting.
The cast made self-deprecating jokes and said, “YG is like North Korea” and “People become weird here”.
At the end of the video, there were funny subtitles that said “Expected to air in November (according to the boss)” and “the channel is not decided yet”. An YG official told Osen, “We’re currently in the planning stage, and the shooting may begin in September at the earliest. The exact air date and channel have not been decided yet.”
Expectations are running high for the chemistry between Park Junsu, the producer of God of Music and the best in lowbrow sitcoms, and YG artists.

The casting capability of “I Live Alone” crew and Taeyang’s unique charm created a big synergy effect.
On the August 18th episode of MBC’s I Live Alone, Taeyang revealed his love for pajamas and “dong grandpa” lifestyle. Taeyang showed how he spends his time usually from having tea in the morning to gardening. It was different from the sexy charismatic Taeyang on the stage.
According to Nielsen Korea, the part 1 and 2 of the August 18th episode of I Live Alone recorded 9.4% and 11.4% in viewer ratings, respectively. The show has had the highest viewer ratings among shows in the same time slot for 19 consecutive weeks. Also for nine weeks in a row, “I Live Alone” managed to post double digit ratings.
Taeyang played a pivotal role. His house was filled with artwork, which impressed the cast members. It was perfectly organized and speck and clean as if it was a sample house. However, Taeyang showed his inner grandpa side by moaning the second he got up and by drinking tea because he can’t drink coffee.
Then, he watched Korean Food Table, proving his old taste. He couldn’t help smiling while watching the show. He was so tempted by all the delicious food on the show that he ended up making kimchi fried rice. He also revealed his habit of ordering white rice cakes.
The most interesting factor was Taeyang’s love for pajamas. He changed into four different pajamas on the show. He pulled his pajama pants up high and said, “Aren’t they cool? They look classic. You have to wear pajamas this way”.
His love for pajamas continued even when he was jogging. Taeyang worked out using public exercise equipment as if he is an old man from a retirement home. After working out, Taeyang did gardening in a straw hat and farmer-like clothing to the shock of everyone.
But, Taeyang is still Taeyang. He practiced dancing for his concert and completely made the viewers forget about the grandpa Taeyang they saw before. His dance was so restrained and charismatic it was hard to take your eyes off him. After finishing his dance practice, he met up with Daesung. They chatted about G-Dragon and Seungri. A preview showing TAEYANG, Seungri, and Daesung having a pajama party raised the expectations for the next week’s episode.
